Pekins are a small bantam breed, like most chickens, originating from China. They have soft, fluffy feathers. in my experience, they can often be quite flighty, but that purely depends on the bird itself. Their plumages can be black, blue, buff, cuckoo, mottled, barred, Columbian, lavender, partridge, white, birchen, silver partridge, and salmon, all as cute. They are loyal (also depending on the bird itself) are love hugs yet I do not recommend giving them to children under 7 as they are rather fragile. My Pekin is called Ploof and she is incredibly sweet but only lets me and mother hold her, she also loves roosting on my arm (like the rest of my pure breeds, I am very lucky! ) and don't forget soft head rubs - she's obsessed! a great breed for more experienced keepers
