V-combs are one of the main comb shapes found on chickens. They are characterized by by two points sticking up on either side of the head, and protruding from a base. The standard v-comb is usually quite small, but can be huge and horn-like on breeds like the La Fleche. The comb can also vary greatly in appearance and even have small spikes branching off of the main points. (see Comb Chart) The v-comb is often found on chickens with crests on their heads, but can be found on other breeds too. It's a much less common comb shape than the other more common shapes, such as the single or pea comb.
